Cooking classes at Villa Rosa dei Venti

Barbara (me) and my mother Ornella give classes in our modern Kitchen at Villa Rosa dei Venti. We take pride in using the freshest localy sourced ingredients. The aroma and the flavours of our own recipes originated in Creti a lovely village in Cortona municipality, in the heart of Tuscany.

During the cooking classes we are going to cook: antipasti, home made pasta, Villa Rosa dei Venti Tuscan sauce, meat, vegetable and dessert, using fresh products and our own extra-virgin olive oil. I truly hope you will be able to perceive the passion, warmth and the deep bond, which connects my family “the Micheli’s” to this land. We will lead you along Extra Virgin Olive Oil, wine, apples, sharing with you some of our family stories and real-life anecdotes. We have opened our heart to all of you, not only through our memories but also revealing the secrets of our kitchen. It is well known that good food helps to understand the atmosphere and flavours of a place. If you should be coming through the tuscan countryside and would like to come and pay a visit, we will be happy to greet you in a splendid 1700s farmhouse “Villa Rosa dei Venti” or in a charming flat “Diamante”. On that occasion if you wish, between a glass of good wine and a cooking course, we can continue telling you about our life in Tuscany.

Some years ago, Sikke Sumari, finnish judge of Master chef Suomi, filmed 18 episodes at Villa Rosa dei Venti of the finnish cooking show Sikke-Ruokaa Rakkaudella eat with love Mom Ornella and her “hand made pappardelle”, were the stars of more than one episode.

Our cookbook “Tuscan Memories in the kitchen”

I was born in Arezzo in 1970 and raised in Cortona. After receiving my degree I returned to Cortona where I currently reside with my family.Me and my brother Stefano own and manage several properties in Cortona municipality,among these are the Lovely Villa Rosa dei Venti in Creti di Cortona and charming Diamante apartment in Foiano della Chiana.
Lover of life and good food, I authored my first Cookbook “Cooking secrets of a Tuscan family” in 2008 ( sold out) .Last June 2019 I published the second one “ Tuscan memories in the kitchen”, here you can find great recipes, great stories and wonderful photos .
